ACCESS AIDS Care

For almost 25 years, ACCESS AIDS Care has been providing programs and services to individuals and families impacted by HIV/AIDS in Hampton Roads. Our goal is to promote the dignity and wellness of adults, families, youth and children affected by HIV/AIDS. Primary services include HIV medical case management, medication assistance, transportation services, permanent supportive housing and HIV prevention through education and testing. 

In the summer of 2011, ACCESS AIDS Care opened The LGBT Center of Hampton Roads.  The mission of the Center is to provide a safe space, services, resources, education and support to the LGBT community of Hampton Roads. The Center is committed to fulfilling the diverse social needs of the Hampton Roads LGBT community by hosting weekly social and educational events. They help improve an individual's quality of life and empower each individual, family member and friend to live a life in peace.

What We Accomplished Last Year:

• We served over 600 people living with HIV/AIDS
• We distributed 16,000 meals to our clients
• We supplied permanent housing for 70 singles and families
• We performed 2,000 free HIV tests
• We provided miles and miles of transportation for our clients

The LGBT Center continues to provide clinical mental health counseling, a variety of  LGBT support groups, meeting space for other non-profits, hosting social and education events and providing a safe place for the LGBT community to gather.
