Last year we were able to increase our services to clients because of donors just like you. Along with providing medical case management for 600 clients, we also provided and delivered over 16,000 of meals, arranged for permanent housing to individuals and their families and provided miles and miles of transportation for our clients. With just one year under our belt, The LGBT Center of Hampton Roads, a program of ACCESS AIDS Care, performed thousands of free HIV tests and provided resources and support to over 300 LGBT youth in the areas only LGBT Center.
For almost 25 years, ACCESS AIDS Care has been providing programs and services to individuals and families impacted by HIV/AIDS in Hampton Roads. Our goal is to promote the dignity and wellness of adults, families, youth and children affected by HIV/AIDS. Primary services include HIV medical case management, medication assistance, transportation services, permanent supportive housing and HIV prevention, education and testing.
In the summer of 2011, ACCESS AIDS Care opened The LGBT Center of Hampton Roads. The mission of the Center is to provide a safe space, services, resources, education, and support to the LGBT community of Hampton Roads.
The Center is committed to full-filling the diverse social needs of the Hampton Roads LGBT community by helping to improve their quality of life, and assisting in empowering each individual, their families and their friends in living an authentic life in peace.
The LGBT Center continues to provide clinical mental health counseling, a variety of LGBT support groups, meeting space for other non-profits, hosting social and education events and providing a safe place for the LGBT community to gather.
