Make It Count

More than 85% of your contribution goes directly to providing services and support for our families and clients.

DonateACCESS AIDS Care accepts all kinds of donations and we encourage each donor to find the donation type and amount that is right for them. When considering to make a larger contribution commitment to the agency, there are several ways you can do so. The correct plan for you balances what you wish to accomplish for yourself, your family, and your charitable interests in your overall estate and financial plans. If you are considering making a donation to ACCESS AIDS Care, we would very much appreciate and accept any of the following:

Accepted forms of Donation

Cash Donations: Use our secure online donation system (Google Checkout in the right toolbar) to donate cash directly using your Visa, MasterCard, or American Express credit card. If you would rather write a check or send another form of payment, you can mail your donation (ACCESS AIDS Care Mailing Address).

Memorial/Honorariums Contributions: If you would like to make a contribution to ACCESS AIDS Care in memory or honor of someone, please note to whom your gift is in honor or memory of on the donation. Your memorial/honorarium recipient will be notified of your gift and the amount of your gift will not be shared.

Workplace Giving: ACCESS AIDS Care is a United Way agency. If your company has a United Way program, you can designate ACCESS AIDS Care as your charity of choice. Ask your employer how you can make a tax-deductible donation directly from your paycheck, and if they offer a matching gift program. To designate ACCESS AIDS Care at your place of employment, please use the following numbers: ACCESS AIDS Care designation for Southside UW #5075; ACCESS AIDS Care designation for Peninsula UW #7047.

Monthly Giving: You break your mortgage into monthly installments, so who says you can't do the same for your charitable contributions? Join our monthly giving program by choosing any amount you would like to give each month. You can choose to have your credit card charged monthly and you will receive a receipt of your total annual giving.

IRA Opportunities: The Financial Rescue Package, which was rolled out as part of the nationwide Stimulus Package, gives individuals the opportunity to rollover up to $100,000 from an individual retirement account (IRA) or a Roth IRA to any qualifying charity (that’s us!) without having to recognize the donation amount as taxable income. But like all deals, this one won’t last forever. The donation must occur before December 31, 2009. For more information, please contact Katie Donahue, Development Coordinator at 757.640.0929.
Another perk for IRA holders…if you are thinking of rolling your IRA account into a Roth IRA, you are also thinking about the taxable income amount! Making a tax-deductible gift to ACCESS AIDS Care during the transfer process will help offset the amount considered to be taxable income. It will help your pocket and it will help our clients.

NAP Tax Credits:  Individuals and businesses that make a sizeable contribution receive Virginia State tax credits that are equal to 40% of their donation. Tax Credits are available to individuals that make cash contributions of at least $500.00.  Businesses may receive tax credits for 40 % of their total contribution, however, the minimum for a business contribution is $1,000.00. That's a heck of a return rate! To learn more about receiving tax credits, click here.

Planned Gifts: No matter what size your donation, asset contribution or estate may be, we value your intention and decision to leave a lasting gift to help us build a secure future. Bequests are the most common, and easiest way, to leave a legacy with ACCESS AIDS Care.
